Healthy eating

My new gizmo, NutriBullet!

Last week, I overheard the parents of my students talking about their healthy juice diet, and it reminded me of the NutriBullet I got as a Christmas present (and the promise I made to the people around me).

When I was in my 20s, I kept saying "I'm going to start to eat healthier when I'm 30!" and here I am (turned 30 last month) still ordering LARGE french fries.

I went home from the studio, opened the brand new Nutribullet box, read the recipe book and searched about it on the Internet.

It seemed easy enough for me to start using it, so I did 5 days ago!

The guide book had a very strict 6 week cleanse program but I didn't want to go too crazy.

What I'm trying to do for now is eat fresh juice of vegetables and fruits in the morning, lots of vegetables and a small portion of carbs for lunch, and vegetable soup and protein for supper.

Sometimes sweets and coffee.

So far, I seem to have more energy; although it's been only 5 days so I can't really tell if it's because of the diet.

BUT! It's much better than doing nothing or eating badly! I put many ingredients into one juice so even just that makes my diet healthier.

I hope this healthy eating habit gives me a longer ballet teacher career!!

30min. Project

I bought many IKEA fabrics a long time ago just because they were cheap.

But I didn't know what to do with them since they were Home Decor fabrics and the patterns were too crazy to be a purse.

So I made this.

Fabric Basket for Room Organizing

And It's Reversible!

The cutting and sewing were very simple so it took me only 30min. and cost me probably $5!

The pattern and the directions are from HERE.

Back to Work

It was the first day back to work today.

As much as I like having nothing to do and being lazy, it was good to be back to the regular schedule and get active.

Last week, we had days when Winnipeg was colder than the North Pole or even colder than Mars(!!) although I have no idea how cold Mars is (probably very).

It should be a little better than that now, but the roads are still very slippery so I had to drive 30km/h to and from work.

I felt bad for the people behind me but what can I do? I'm terrified of driving on ice since I slipped, drove into a ditch and got stuck!!!

The big event today was that I sent out the application forms for the Master's program.

I can't wait to hear from them. I really really hope that I will get accepted!

The next big event will be the Manitoba Cecchetti Workshop. I'm excited about this year's Cecchetti Workshop because there will be a teachers' class. I hope this will bring me back to dancing :)
